Mark Vaughn first experienced MCC New Orleans in 2006 when the church was located on South Carrollton Ave. Since that time, he has served as Vice-Moderator of the Board of Directors, chaired pastoral search committees, and currently plays acoustic guitar in the worship band. At the 2016 “Emerge” General Conference, Mark experienced spiritual renewal and gained a deeper understanding of the work that God is doing through MCC to change attitudes, stand against persecution of LGBTQ people, and to promote God’s love throughout the world. He is looking forward to strengthening relationships within the Gulf South Network of MCC churches, furthering our church’s ministries, and preparing our congregation for the decisions that will be made at the 2019 General Conference.
Michele Broussard has been a member since 2012. She started out helping with Ushering and being a Greeter and has expanded her involvement and support ever since. She helps out with set-up before morning worship, and facilitated a number of our Potluck Sundays and Brunch Sundays. Michele also started our Service Sunday program where she planned monthly volunteer efforts in the community with local organizations such as Books2Prisoners, Villalobos Animal Rescue Shelter, and the Volunteers of America. She is looking forward to attending various conferences and network gatherings to connect more with other MCCer's in the Gulf South and learning more about and representing our church at the General Conference in 2019.
